Tributes Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to share openly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has passed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "a single day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Values that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a different tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A court order placed a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" associated with the active case.

The coroner's office had already determined their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

Following the tragedy, public personalities offered divergent comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by numerous individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the those speaking out recently. Speaking on his program, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they showed a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by suggesting that an adviser could have stepped in when the choice to comment on the death was made.
