Prolific writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

An official for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The publisher has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
