Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.
Allegations Posted on Social Media
The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
