British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
