Barça Set to Play First Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
