Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which verified that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.
This occurrence is not the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to Munich was compelled to return to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
